Tony
Moncrief
is a Port Huron Northern Alumnus. In 1979, he led the Huskies to
the State Championships. After high school, Tony played in the
minor league system for both the Cincinnati Reds and the Oakland
Athletics. While with the Athletics, Tony received instruction
from the great Detroit Tiger Willie Horton. In 1987, he played on
the nationally ranked Hall of Fame Secory Flyers modified softball team.
Tony won the batting title that year with a .587 batting average.
Since then, Tony has been an accomplished hitting instructor using his
knowledge and experience to construct and refine sound hitting methods
in players from Little League to the collegiate level. In 2008,
Tony became the new batting coach for the St. Clair County Community
College and helped players slug their way
into national rankings.
